Do I need a car if I do graduate from Stanford, Purdue, UC Berkeley, UNC, U. washing?

I have the intention to return home to the U.S. for a doctoral program, the planning application to the universities above. A big factor in my decision is whether or not I need a car. I do not want a car, and want to live in a city with pretty good public transportation. I plan to live within biking distance of campus. How good is the transport public in the cities of the universities above and in the context of bicycles, how easy is the road bike and the ground?

You do not need a car for UW. I can not say for sure for other academic institutions on the list, but in general I do not think I needed it. Most large universities have a lot of students do not have cars. Public transport in these days are pretty good.

I'm at Stanford, and all I have a motorcycle -. I'm a fan of rivers, lakes, etc. and impressive views. I do not want to be there all day, but … few hours. It would be good if it is safe to go by myself, too.
