Which one should i get ? giant boulder se 2008 or trek 820 2009?

I am a beginner so i dont know much about bikes. One bike shop is selling me the giant boulder se for $330. Another bike shops is selling the Trek 820 for $299. I test rode both of them but cant seem to tell the difference. I wish one bike shop had both for me to ride! The giant just looks cooler but not sure if the quality is different from the trek. Any suggestion on what else i should look for and what would you get?

Giant Boulder SE better bike and better components. Good beginner bike for the money.
