Unruly Cops in the U.S

We’ve all seen it before and it makes me just cringe. Though police officers are paid to protect the public and enforce the laws, they break the laws just like regular human beings do. I mean how many times in your life have you seen a cop car quickly flip his cherries and berries to get through a red light before the rest of us? Or how about when they take part in sleezy drug trades that are covered up as acts of vigilance? This is just uncalled for and to put in street terms, it is straight up BOGUS.

Last week, an LA officer who was off duty spent his evening at the Police Academy bar drinking the night away. Even with his blood alcohol levels far over the legal limit, he climbed up on his motorcycle and drove away. He crashed his bike into tiny motorcycle parts just three miles later. The officer, who was 47 years of age, unfortunately did not survive the collision. As sad as this story is, where is the justice? This cop should have known better and had he abided by the laws like the rest of us, he would still be here today. The worst part of this story is the fact that he was drinking with all of his cop buddies at the Police Academy bar. Don’t you think there were other responsible officers around who could have prevented him from driving? This type of misconduct is completely unacceptable.

Of course driving hammered and causing accidents is much more major than running red lights, but even this small act can cause havoc. Why is that we have to stop at a red light even when no cars are coming and some cops find it acceptable to rush on through with cars still zooming past the green. This is unsafe, unruly, and completely unfair to the public American people. Another thing I see happen a lot is drug transactions on the streets. This occurs in direct view of police officers sometimes and I rarely see something happen. Of course, this could simply be a stakeout for future arrests, but come on. The guy is right there selling crack, why not bust him then in there. I feel like a lot of cops in major cities feel threatened and afraid of actually getting involved in the dirty deals of the drug cartel. So much for protecting and serving; it is no wonder why a good 50 police officers will be laid off in Minneapolis, MN due to “budget deficits” in 2009. If you ask me, it’s more like paranoid, useless, do what they want cops getting what they deserve. Try getting a job at a gas station pig.
