The best places to live in the Pacific Northwest?

My boyfriend and I are looking to move this summer and want to find a community that fits our personalities better. We currently live in Utah and want to live somewhere more friendly environment a little warmer, with more culture (music, people are more liberal, etc.) We are two young, very active and love outdoors. It would be ideal to live near the coast, but a warming climate is a priority. I am also looking for "community" type where the city People are friendly and you can walk / bike to get your morning coffee. If someone can give me specific information that would be greatly appreciated. I've only been in Oregon a couple of times, so I'm not familiar with the region. Thank you for the help!

Well I saw in Spokane and we're having a very mild winter. How ever, they are mostly conservative here. Seattle's climate is warmer in winter than we do and it is more liberal. There are many things to do outdoors in all of Washington and Seattle, if it is too big, not far from other towns. I also found people in Washington to be very friendly and welcoming.
