Bike Route from Los Angeles to San Francisco?

Sis and I need a Bike route from Los Angeles to San Francisco. We are on a mission to lose a “couple” pounds, get away from our ever so nosey family, and see the great state of California. Please if anyone knows of a route please let us know.
