What are some risk factors of riding a bike?

This is for a job I'm doing security. I need to know some risks bicycle riding and the consequences for not wearing a helmet or as a result of driving rules.

The helmet issue has been overvalued for years, Head injuries are not as common as manufacturers of helmets I have to believe! (Bell Helmets, for example, have powerful lobby groups to force the use of helmets to be a must! – Obviously, since many producers own helmet, the chance to win a huge profit) Most bicycle injuries are usually the hands and elbows, legs, possibly followed by fractures of the collarbone! Please remember that simple injuries can result from sand, dust and insects shot in the eye (I always carry sunglasses, color, transparent or amber, depending on conditions) Hope this helps.
