Biking San Juan Islands

Should I go camping with a broken collarbone?
I broke my right collarbone a week ago today (Wednesday) and next week my school is going on a week-long camping trip. We leave Monday morning and come back on Friday. We’re going to the San Juan Islands, and it is a bike trip. Obviously, I’m not going to be biking, but they said I could ride in the car following the group. My collarbone doesn’t really hurt anymore unless someone bumps it, but my parents aren’t letting me go. What do you think? (We’re sleeping in tents, and pretty much everyone there is really careful.)
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. How silly of me. I’m in the 8th grade, and we have 6th, 7th, but mostly 8th graders on the trip. There are 5 trip choices every year (our school is cool like that) but I’ve already missed 6th grade because I had a really high fever (apparently, March isn’t my good month). All of my friends are going on it.
If you’re not biking there is no reason you shouldn’t be able to go. This will be a pricelss childhood memory. Be sure to use that in your argument with your parents, but don’t throw a juvenile hissy fit. Be as mature as possible.
Also, see if one of your teachers or chaperones will write a note stating that they will keep an eye on you and not let you do anything stupid.
