What is the best way to go to Burlingame from Stanford University Hospital using public transport?
I know about the BART and Caltrain. Am willing to bike to the stations or stops. Reasons to be specific. I'm from Michigan.
Caltrain is your best bet. The hospital is just a short walk bicycle from Palo Alto station.

Veteran Voortrekkers to the Eastern Cape
This month we have in the Overberg region, mountains, rivers and space wide open country, just west of Cape Town, then on the "Garden Route" which culminated in a private wildlife sanctuary 80 km from the coast Port Elizabeth. While we strive to update and useful properties of exceptional value and beauty, we close this comment months in the heart of our dining and wines, Franschhoek.
Colin compiled this seven-night itinerary for the return of British customers traveling with U.S. Travel companion Penny. Camilla visited South Africa five times through the center of the scene in Voyage of the last nine years and this time asked if Colin was able to accompany it with Penny. Indeed yes style, Colin agreed on the basis of being the official taster for driver dinner. Armed with a Group B car hire budget, loads of room, jokes and overhead hot African sun, has been launched.

Cape Town, a city as cosmopolitan as the world most. However, once outside the city, past the international airport to Cape Town this, the view becomes majestic mountains, first-class roads and the beauty of the coastline. Our route took the coastal road through Gordons Bay, Pringle Bay Harold Porter Botanical past the reserve, then to lunch at the Arabella Western Cape Hotel & Spa. Overlooking the largest inland lake Africa and the Kogelberg Nature Reserve, offers impeccable service, large lounge with comfortable sofas and a view of improving the tranquility of a well presented meals of rare roast beef sandwiches and coffee.
Our destination this evening was Blue Gum Country Estate outside of Stanford. hospitality country style of life, vast expanses of space and a true Israel expects our arrival. Andrew and his two Labradors and Herbanna Odi, fresh his afternoon run through the dam and local Vlei, greeted us with enthusiasm. An excellent option to stay overnight on the way to the Garden Route or to use as a base for exploring the Overberg, Blue Gum Country Estate combines elements around too. Mountain bikes are available and I tried the art of mobility but after four kilometers back to Hobson's Choice.
In the countryside, surrounded by 130 hectares of wheat fields, vineyards and pastures – Away from roads and highways – it is hard to believe we were close to 20 nature reserves, botanic gardens, 16 museums, 20 shops and art galleries, beaches and more than 24,100 restaurants.
We had a drink before dinner guests in its observation platform and meanders through the dining room. Dinner was a case of lazy under the watchful eye of our waitrons Renny and Cynthia. In true style country, the parties were very adequate, and presented above for both our customers, our wine selection was well received. As our paths diverged, the night sky was filled constellations, shooting stars among our best known stars.
Go further along the N2, traveling near Mossel Bay history and led the famous George golf course to our next step in most Lodge in the heart of our Garden Route, Knysna. Ryk & Amanda is the owner and is well placed for Bed & Breakfast, for eight years. In view of the Knysna lagoon and heads only two miles from the center of the city, his inimitable style From Home is widely recognized by its many repeat customers worldwide. The weather was still a little hard for us to a gray canopy and strong winds, yet crossed the center the city taking in some of the eclectic art shops in the main street.
The next day saw our African sun back with a vengeance. Penny & I decided to take a cruise ship plying the paddle the lake offers excellent views of Knysna Heads. Our captain today Knysna say was Mr. William Smith. We talked about some major events coming through Knysna and how the recent floods have performed the steps in planning for the owners. Supplies Paddle Cruiser in cruises on the lagoon, as well as a place of great dinner. In fact Knysna offers a very different dinner participants. Along the coast and Thesen Island is a variety of restaurants, cafes and restaurants. Knysna is a great starting point to see some of the sights.
In front of the aptly named town of Port Elizabeth, or use the correct name of today Nelson Mandela Bay. This case is used to facilitate a meeting between friends of the family who are based here. Our accommodation is the Protea Hotel Edward in the center This bustling metropolitan city. It has seen better days, and Overview of the surrounding residential properties is in line with the degradation overall region. I do not recommend this hotel for a number of practical reasons.
During dinner with friends, talk about the next three days spent Blaauwbosch Private Game Reserve. A wildlife experience of Africa is heavily dependent on the care and tracker assigned to the guests. Spending up to eight hours a day in his business, is vital for these brave people who have the interpersonal skills and experience to share knowledge Mother Nature with their hosts.
We left Port Elizabeth on excellent roads within Graff Reinet. The landscape has changed of industrial vehicle assembly plants for more plants, trees and hills. One of the advantages of remaining Blaauwbosch Private Game Reserve is the proximity access paved road. Visit other game lodges may involve distances of gravel roads in different conditions. This tour would climax Penny his first trip to Africa by Camilla simply an extension of the quality of many other shelters that have visited South Africa and Zimbabwe. We reached Blaauwbosch Private Game Reserve to be greeted in the parking lot of a welcome reception committee. This touch of warmth to welcomed by management and staff at the entrance.
With only seven luxury villas, each with everything you expect from a category property, our stay was scheduled Baauwbosch a load of fun, education and inspiration. We had lunch on the terrace overlooking a panorama pure magic. distant mountains that glow in the warmth of an open valley in the middle. A simple meal but very well presented with staff to ensure that we have received due attention. A nap is mandatory for a safari. One of the key elements to take on Mother Nature in Eastern Cape is the fact that it is a malaria area. It would be remiss of me not to speak of the topography in Blaauwbosch. Rockies Stark, deep-walled valleys, plains, rivers dry are those who are here. Something unique in my experience and excellent driving went some of the guards was Siphwo Blaauwbosch since its inception six years ago.
After an excellent afternoon tea of sweet and savory treat time to keep a wild animal. Imagine if you were a hot afternoon Africa moving in a refrigerator overnight, the shadows stretch, it is time to drink, find a safe haven for predators, the time to stretch your muscles for upcoming events … … We have seen a variable amount large and small in our first game as gently fell under the spell of silence, the smell and the loneliness that was! A female cheetah and her five puppies! So special! I was completely relaxed with our presence does not exceed 80 meters. Reproduction constantly questioning, he acknowledged our presence, possibly re-playful antics, as if they exist. There are three women here, two to five cubs each and the third a little pain for other females. Two male cheetahs have been killed by lions during a certain time. This is normal in the eternal struggle for space and dominance between predator species.
Over the next three days we have been observing lions, elephants near a scenario rare rhino search damp and wet matt white men and a large number of Kudu antelope species in small droppings. Penny and Camilla felt his experience was excellent and I'm sure most first time visitors would. However, I felt I could have shared more Siphwo their knowledge of the flora (flowers, plants, trees), topography and general information on the importance of the Karoo with his guests. There was a lot of time where observations of animals are rare and transmitting knowledge that has been well received and contributed to a better understanding of the importance balance between Mother Nature and humanity.
Our meals interaction and cooperation results have been excellent. Our guests have the sensitivity, provided tables together to fit the vehicles complement. This has allowed that to stimulate dialogue over dinner and opened a key element of human interaction, exchange of experiences of our lives. On our second night, we all sat around a campfire in the boma (circular structure to protect against the elements and wild animals). We have absorbed the time, drunk in the night sky for several hours under a canopy of black velvet trimmed with jet about "Eyes" communion. Nothing major has been said, no, that's the beauty of Africa, not us humans that make the experience so meaningful is the serenity, the generosity of the unit and you can find in our country, our sky and its purpose.
All flew to Cape Town from an airport and very delicious effective in Port Elizabeth. For me, the charges, it was time to close this tour of Franschhoek. Named after the fourth being "French" Huguenot, oozing charm of this city has more restaurants than churches and good food in all of us to take pole position. Our choice of accommodation is Franschhoek. Part of the family management and led the group of Final Word exquisite retreat is ideally situated in strategic locations throughout the Cape region. Our choice of Franschhoek is based on the exclusivity of the property, very close to excellent restaurants and the downtown area of Franschhoek. Our host made a typical Sat Welcome to African women come to her room but sat by the pool, taking the long rays of the afternoon with a good glass of Sauvignon Blanc.
There is something a little different than they are in the properties of the last Word. Can be relaxed, it could also be the quality and purpose of your furniture, it is certainly to be the best hosts possible, however. This, coupled with his vast knowledge of all things local the ability of drivers invited to places of interest and we strive to provide exclusivity to offer our customers these day was a culmination of experiences, emotions and adventures for both Camilla and Penny.
For those of you who did not experience an African safari, start planning now. Claire and I will be sharing our experiences with you. If you come with your family, your friends or a group, is the day to come and share our Africa.

Is this a miracle or what?
OK. This story is a bit weird. but here goes, in January 2007, I was diagnosed with a benign tumor the first giant of [her] class in my neck. C2. and how they have found because I fell. When I fell I took my dog to do the bike and took off a little too fast and knocked me down. and I went to a chiropractor and took x-rays and told me I had a case of whiplash. He said with a pair of treatments, I'd be. Thus, after three visits office i had nothing better, he said he wouldnt put a finger on me, if I have an MRI to rule out. and I went for MRI and they found the tumor. I was at Stanford the next day and starts in a biopsy. Then I had two surgeries after one of them really cripple my legs [There are now]. Dr.S and said if that hadnt fallen and discovered that I had a tumor that is not, I would have been handicapped for the rest of my life in 3 mnths. i may crazy, but I think my dog saved my life. so I say, is it a miracle or what?
