Biking The Pacific Coast Trail
What is a good way to reach San Fransisco from Los Angeles by walking?
I am doing this so that I can reach by foot the beginning of the American Discovery Trail*, which goes from Point Reyes National Seashore on the Pacific Ocean in San Francisco to Cape Henlopen on the Atlantic Ocean in Delaware.
*This is the only coast-to-coast hiking and biking trail across the mid-tier of the United States.
Use Route 1. It is a lot prettier than 101 or I-5. Be aware that the distance is several hundred miles. At San Simeon, take some time to view the Hearst Castle; it is definitely worth seeing.
