is running or biking better?

i am prepping for summer running, I am captain of my x-c team, and I have bad knees, so i am biking two days a week and running the other two. which is better, or burns more calories? I live in a town where it’s up halfway and down the other, too.

Running burns more calories by far. I would make sure you work out 5-6 days a week. If your knees bug you, you should get into a pool. Get an aquajogger belt and learn to run in the pool. Low impact. Great workout. Closest thing to running and it’s great for your knees. I know a kid who spent an entire cc season in the pool and won state. Good luck!
