I'm trying to find something for my boyfriend's birthday. Ride down, and I would like find a good magazine that I would enjoy. No cross-country or anything, just downhill.

try going to a big local bike shop. most likely is to have a newsstand with many options. one of them has to be for the descent. you may want to try the magazine in mountain biking and mountain bike action too. its pure downhill, but they focus on all aspects of mountain biking and product reviews, (say you're looking for a new set of armor body) fitness and diet is very important for downhilling.
