First downhill mountain biking?

Currently I have a walk of 430, but I get more downhill. This will be my first full suspension bike. Can you suggest for a beginner bike and something that I can get? Something along the lines of a Norco Atomik. Also, if you know of any good place around Washington DC would be great! Thanks in advance!
