Anyway Piazza della Signoria is large enough, but Via dei Calzaiuoli and Via Por Santa Maria (the street to get to the plaza) are small and crowded.

We want to do a bike tour in Italy, but they all seem to be too long and costly. Suggestions?
We are planning a trip to Europe next summer and I really want to do a bike tour. We are planning a trip for two weeks and most expenses, except all of our time in Italy. I found many places of interest in cycling, but they all circuits that are either 1 day or 7 + days (as long we want to do Rome and Florence as well) and most of them are like $ 2000 + because you put in a 4 or 5 star hotels! We are not pretencious. We would like to find something else for 3-4 days which is a few hundred cheaper per person than we would like camping. Any suggestions on where search?
you have your own. throughout Europe and Italy are also very nice system. Bicycles are allowed on board trains. well, why not rent a bike (or bring your own) and then go biking for a while, a little train, then bike again and so on. if you can travel to Rome and Florence, a bike shop with you. cheap accommodation is easy to find. always stop at the little restaurant and ask them to offer affordable accommodation nearby. works very well. I am German, my husband is American and we are hiking Italy and is still a nice place to stay and went his way, when we have seen enough. quite all by train, do not use the bike. but see nothing to take a bike along.
