Should I go to France or Switzerland?

I have a choice to go on a journey of five weeks in France where he had to stay with a host family, will travel the country, participate in language classes, and go to a famous cooking school or go to Switzerland for hiking, biking, lodging, travel and experience. Both coutries are supposed to be beautiful and have great cultures. However, I do not know what to do. I'm intrigued by the activities in France again, but I am more attracted to the beautiful Alpine scenery in Switzerland. Which country should go?
