Ladies, you can ride your own bike

Whether you're tall or short, minor, or more if you ride your own motorcycle, you can! I I would never have my own journey. I thought I was too short, I was not strong enough, and I was too old. I was wrong. That's how I started.

I was riding behind my husband for 20 years, probably once in a while, never going anywhere in particular and just seeing the country's roads on weekends. One day I came like a bolt from nowhere. I see a lot more if the head was not in the way! I have my own bike once before, but either had to stop at a curb or have someone higher on the back. What was a joke, not to mention dangerous. That was in 1984 and never try to learn again after that fiasco. I thought I was stuck in the back forever.

After my epiphany on the road that day, I bought a 2003 Harley Superglide and I just thought that I could go on and go. FALSE! Riding responsibly and have a good time have some preparation. Recommend a course of motorcycle safety, available throughout the country, as opposed to learning from a friend, and here's why:

World 1. The class is a new driver, so no one laughs.

2. The instructors are experts.

3. It is a great confidence builder before riding with friends or relatives.

After taking my safety course that could accommodate up to 600 + moto pounds, start and take off confidence. I was ready for the actual practice of the street, and practice I did. I rode every weekend from May to August. In late August, was ready for a road trip. We left Chattanooga, Tennessee. Imagine, a pilot again towards the mountain roads again. What genius!

I learned some things that trip, as the group of how great the cyclists can be and how much fun it is very easy to get. I also learned what he had to take and how to pack my things. saddlebags a great job in a non-Touring model, just slip 'em under the seat. For a longer trip, add a leather bag style backpack that fits over the sissy bar. a tent and bag sleeping room to save on costs, too. Remember always a good leather coat, chaps and gloves because sixty degrees in the yard is much hotter than sixty degrees at highway speeds. Rain gear is a good idea, too. It's good to have some issues along the way, so I carry an MP3 player and headphones. A digital camera is a necessity if you want to remember the trip and the great people they met, and if you can not escape from cyberspace, a laptop and detector Wi-Fi signal is actually useful.

So, ladies, do not. If you think you're too short or too old or too whatever, remember this, I'm 5'2 ", I had my first real motorcycle in 43, and I am far from ready to quit riding.

I'm stuck in the back anymore!
