Top 3 American Cities

America is a wonderfully diverse country with a wide variety of terrain, people, places and architecture. It is hard and actually kind of silly to arbitrarily name the top three American cities, but that is just what I am going to do.

Chicago

Often called of the most American and blue-collared of the big cities, Chicago is a mix of culture, American business hub and historical political machinations. There are so many great things and so many bad things one can say about Chicago. Lake Shore Drive and the surrounding area is a true American landmark, a wonderfully designed downtown loop near Lake Michigan that still marvels travelers today. Chicago is also one of the most politically corrupt, stuck-in-the-past cities in America. Once a haven for notorious gangster, Chicago is still a city haunted by its past, but that’s what makes it such a wonderful, fascinating place. You won’t find more honest and hardworking metropolitan people than in Chicago. There is beauty in Chicago roughness.

Denver

One of the largest cities in the Mountain West, Denver is a truly unique and beautiful city where geography, agriculture and metropolitan big-city style all seem to meet and find a happy middle-ground. If you are looking for a quaint, down-home big city with lots of green space and mountain views and parks and places to set up your outdoor patio furniture set, Denver is the place to be. You can find just as much culture in Denver as anywhere else in the United States and also some of the most well-known sports franchises. Denver is a one of a kind Rocky Mountain city with a look and feel all its own.

Minneapolis

I am a bit biased in that I largely grew up in the Minneapolis area, but I’m not the only one—many recent studies have shown that Minneapolis and the surrounding suburbs are some of the best places to live and to raise a family. The quality of life in Minneapolis has always ranked in the top for the nation and our school systems are consistently at the top of the class. Politically, Minnesota has slowly become more and more of a swing state, emphasizing how much diversity there is in the city. Minneapolis is known for its green city space and its various biking and walking trails along the Mississippi or one of Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes. If you are looking for a friendly city to raise a family and don’t mind the long winters Minneapolis is a great place to call home.
