Cycle and treadmill? Only the exercise or bike?

I have an exercise bike, I also have a pretty good mountain bike. But I thinking of getting a treadmill. My goal is to improve overall fitness and lose about 4 stone, Dr. Frank, I'm more like 6 stones overweight. 4 stones was only 1 goal. Already a long cycle, but certainly not get my heart rate fast. I expressed my concern with my primary care physician, stopped and said that all is well. Should contain in the exercise?
