How do I know if my rotator cuff is torn?

I have an MRI scheduled however I am a little ansy and want to know right away if its possible I tore my rotator cuff( thats what the doc thinks) I would like a response from someone who has torn theirs and what theirs felt like when they did it. I did mine mountain biking and I landed head first but dead onto my shoulder, i was in so much pain at first the doc thinks it probably dislocated and then lodged itself back in, at first I had pain that went from the front of my shoulder around my arm to the back, now the pain has gone down and i just have soreness in the back of the shoulder and it feels like there is a ten pound weight on my arm when i try to lift it, however I have good range of motion now that most of the pain is gone….any suggestions?
just to clarify, im not wondering what to do about it, im wanting to know what other peoples symptoms and signs were so i know if it might be torn or not before i go to get my MRI

Injuries like this don’t cure themselves overnight!
You need to lay off certain things for awhile. It took about 8 months before I could go back to normal daily life/activities!
You have to BABY it! Slowly, otherwise, it will never heal.
Eat right, exercise a lot less, & then do some gradual rehabilitation exercises with it! Trust me, it take longer than you want it to, but patience will prevail.
