Going on a family vacation is always an adventure, no matter where you go, the more so when you head to the most favored region of Maine outdoor recreation free: Jackman and Moose River. 1) Rafting

If you have older children who are looking for some real excitement, you may want consider rafting, a popular sport in the rivers of Maine. Daily departures are scheduled for the Kennebec River, Dead River and Penobscot River with a lot of class III to Class V rapids. Minimum age is 8-15 in terms of river. 6) Endurance Race Car

The Enduro race car, a real stock car race sponsored by the Border Riders Club brings together more than 20 dilapidated old for fun race around a dirt track. Fifty laps exciting that even the youngest fan race will enjoy it. Spectators can also enjoy food and games.

7) Fall Foliage Tour Mountain Bike.

The miles of old railroad registration and snowmobile trails offer something for all levels of mountain bikers throughout the summer. However, a great ride easy for families is that of Solon to Bingham along the Kennebec River Rail Trail with some of the best fall foliage presented in all of New England. The road is crushed stone and 14 miles round trip. The trails allow most incredible sites fall of the opportunity to see wildlife such as moose, deer, partridges, rabbits, foxes and many species of birds. The best time to see nature's masterpiece brilliantly colored mountains is usually late September to mid October.
