Mountain Biking Coast to Coast

Once you have flown in Arrecife Lanzarote airport and arrived at your holiday destination you may decide to devote some of their holiday to explore this beautiful island in a peaceful fashion by hiring a bicycle.

The absence of high peaks in Lanzarote makes it easy to explore the island on a bicycle and the government have launched regional Plan routes CicloturÃsticas detailing a number of routes and paths that allow cyclists to enjoy the island's tourism.

If you is a keen cyclist and want to give you the challenge, there is a recently completed bike path 205 kilometers which is divided into six sections and for mountain bikers (taking into account the ground).

The longest and most demanding section is 46 kilometers long and extends from the white village of Arrieta, around the northern tip of the island to you who is a sleepy village slightly inland. Most of the route sticks close to shore, turning inside to negotiate the Timanfaya National Park.

Because sometimes demanding terrain and year round warm climate provide the perfect practice and training

conditions for amateurs and practitioners regularly see many international athletes training in Lanzarote with challenging hills and Three Islands Ironman events attract more riders serious.

There Cycling in Lanzarote for cyclists of all abilities, ranging from racing flat from the edge of Papagayo, with its beautiful beaches of Faro Park, in the west, to a more strenuous climb mountains Femés. You'll also find plenty of cycle paths in the city Playa Blanca

If you are beyond the day on the bike, toward Timanfaya National Park on LZ 67 and Fire Mountain where the scenery is spectacular. Drop down the other side towards White Spot and Tintajo and head down towards La Santa, or head back by the LZ20 to San Bartolome.
