how do I learn to ride a wheelie on my downhill mountain bike?
it’s an ’03 Santa Cruz Bullit with a Marzocchi 66 light front fork and I love it but I’ve never been good at wheelies/manuals, as soon as I get to the right balance point I panic and hit the rear brake. I was wondering if anyone out there had any tips.
its like doing a wheelie on a smaller bike, you just need to compensate for more weight in the front. try this using platform pedals, so if you freak out you can just jump off. do a few wheelies and pull back really far, you may have to jump off the back a few times. the idea is to find your center of balance. once you get there, is all cake after that.
