Mountain Biking Shoes Women

Help with cycling shoe sizes please?
I’m shopping for road cycling shoes. I currently own a pair of Pearl Izumi mountain bike shoes size 42. I’ve been looking on eBay at these two listings:
Women’s Shimano Size 42

Women’s Diadora Size 42
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250514843294&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
The Shimano listing says US 9.5 and the Diadora says US 10. I normally wear a size 9.
I looked up European shoe size conversion charts and there’s one that has different EU sizes from Men and Women and others that are the same for both men and women.
Any advice is appreciated.
You’ll see some disparity between sizing from mfg’r to mfg’r just as in casual shoes. Shoes are something that you desperately need to get right. The BEST advice that I can give you is to go to a bike shop and try on the model closest to what you are purchasing. The only way to get it right is to try them on. There are nuances that you won’t be able to identify otherwise, and they may make or break the fit. When you try them on you should be sure that the ball of the foot fits within the contour of the shoe. You want some room in the toebox, enough to allow you to pedal without your toe jamming into the end(about a half inch). I would recommend that you try them on yourself and limit the amount of the employee’s time that you consume. Buy some tubes or something to offset the conscience factor.
Disclaimer: I absolutely recommend supporting the local bike shop. I would try them for closeouts if you are constrained by budget.
