Mountain Biking Skills
beginner rider wants to do long trips, it is too soon?

I recently (3 months ago) started riding (bike) and try to drive as often as I can to improve my skills. I'm on my bike every weekend. Take it to the beach, took him to a party of friends, and taking into account the way in Dubai (the United Arab Emirates) roads are built … it comes to long trips on major highways. Each trip is approx. 15 -20 miles. My question is, I have the intention to join a local bike long journey in a mountainous region. The trip will be approximately 100 miles, mostly on the highway leading the mountains. Is it too early to make such a trip? Ps I have a 2003 Honda Shadow

Group riding is not good for beginners. Most groups unable to maintain safe separation between bicycles, clearly defined rules for the group, and often tend to be a little too fast. It soon becomes a game of pushing the limits and that's not good for any driver including a new pilot. I would recommend that you work for the first time that the skills a little more before joining a group tour. The highways you mention are not a problem but the mountians would be a disaster for you and your skills to work and you know when ready.
