Mountain Biking Trails Bay Area

Any good mountain bike trails in the San Francisco Bay Area, California?

Anybody know of a good one in the bay area? If possible please include some information (directions) as to where it is located. Thanks.

Sure. Mt. Tam has a great trail that starts in Mill Valley at the end of Miller Drive. You can ride through Golden Gate Park on single track, but half the fun is finding the single track trails through the park. On Skyline Blvd. (Hwy 35) there are tons of mountain bike trails through hilly woodlands. One of my favorites is the 11 mile downhill coast through the Forest of Nisene Marks (above Capitola). Another is the one that goes from Skyline on Page Mill Road (Palo Alto) down to Saratoga. All these trails are easy to find if you just cruise down Hwy 35, starting where Hwy 35 intersects with Hwy 92 (San Mateo) and heading south on Hwy 35. A short but scenic bike trail is off Geary Blvd. in San Francisco above the Cliff House. It winds along towards the Golden Gate Bridge with ocean view all along the way. In Redwood City (Hwy 84 exit), find Page Mill Road on the map and start at the bottom for a great day’s climb up to Skyline (Hwy 35), and for your reward, head north on Hwy 35 to Kings Mountain Road and have an awesome downhill coast.

For starters.
