Every mountain biker worth his salt will want to try the Slick Rock Trail, located in Moab, Utah – one of the trails for mountain biking world's toughest.

Mountain biking is the Slickrock Bike Trail in Moab, Utah.
The Slickrock Bike trail is a trail of 9.6 miles that most experts believe that "the ultimate experience of mountain biking." There are plenty of "easy and scenic" bike lanes, as well, but for the final journey, Slickrock is.
Moab is located in eastern Utah about 230 miles east of Salt Lake City, or 350 miles west of Denver, Colorado. The name of this town Moab after the small (built in 1902) not clear, but now the name is symbolic for mountain biking.
Moab is a great city – only 5,000 people live there, but receives lot of tourist traffic – so much so that you will find over thirty hotels and motels, bed and breakfast ten, two resorts, 26 guesthouses, fifteen camps and private property. There are also more than a dozen public camps in nearby national parks.
Tourists do not just come for the mountain biking course. There are no outside road jeep trails, hiking, camping, and motorcycling … There are up to the Mill Canyon Dinosaur Trail, which you can walk and see traces of dinosaur bones from a variety of species.
The first thing any visitor to Moab to do is visit the Visitor Center, that prospectuses for each activity will take in the sun, trail maps and more. If you are new to Moab, I do not want to go anywhere without a selection of trailmaps, and should never go anywhere without someone knowing where you are going and when will be back. Better yet, always walk or bike with a partner to help you in case of problems.
If you are a beginner, there are plenty of tour operators – mountain biking, river rafting, skydiving – which can lead to appropriate places and make sure you have a good time.
As you walk along your bike, you can see others littering or bad behavior, and I wonder why it is assumed that the "least impact" on their environment … but that's just how things are. Be responsible for your own personal footprint ", even if you do not can control what others do.
Moab bike trails consist of what is called "Slick Rock". I'll get to that in a bit. For now, here is the list of good practices.
1) Ride only on roads and paths
2) Learn to recognize and preserve cryptobiotic soil crusts. Very good – It will be difficult. Wait until you get to Moab and then have someone point them out to you.
3) Avoid skidding your tires
4) When wet, avoid the clay-like surfaces. Staying in the rocky areas, sand or Slickrock
5) Do not mount on the sides of streams
6) Do not contaminate water resources
Mountain Bike Trails
1) More than 100,000 people a year on a trip in the Slick Rock Road – Named for a trail of their "naked" sandstone – Stone that can be sustained over the tires of his bike in "Defying Gravity angles. The route is classified as a "Class 4" – 4 is the most difficult class.
The trail is twelve miles long, and if there were concentrating on the ground before you'd see running through a raised stone platform surrounded cliff – cut by the Colorado River over millions of years. You can see the guns, see Arches National Park across the river and mountains of salt in the eastern horizon.
The trail is a loop of 12-miles long (if you do not take any party TRIPS) and have at least four hours. Sure carry a lot of extra water with you. You can bike on the road since mid-February through November, but of course is more popular throughout the spring and fall.
The road is sand Flats Recreation Area, and there is a small fee to enter. The rate of pay for the maintenance of the entire area.
2) The Porcupine Rim Trail, also located in the Sand Flats Recreation Area, also rated a Category 4. It is a path in one direction and takes about half a day to ride.
However, if your family is full of mountain bikers, both skilled and beginners, do not despair. There is plenty of other trails for mountain biking easy in this beautiful area .- such as the Loop Bar M.
