GPS for bikes and discharge capacity and "Breadcrumb" feature …?

I am looking for a GPS unit that I can ride on my bars, and has many features. One of my things that I want is to be able to download maps from the pre-established, popular routes – to ride the "Bike City of New York "and" Livestrong Challenge rides, and it would be nice to download a map to see where I'm at a given time. I also like a "breadcrumb" that allows me to continue to mount and save the route, to be able to see again in the unit and also on my computer. I have been trying to find a program that does this for use on my Blackberry Storm, but can not. My next option is to buy a handheld GPS and assembly of the bars.

I've been using a Garmin that has these characteristics years. Mine is old and big, but here are some new ones designed for cycling. They also have terrain features so you can see the magnitude of the trails are.
