Little known Canadian island destination

In the fall of 2008, I spent a wonderful means of week in the Magdalen Islands and Prince Edward Island, Canada. I have family in Nova Scotia and drive my own car with my father to Nova Scotia, Southern Ontario, we had the opportunity to take a quick detour on the way home.
The Magdalen Islands, also known as "The Magdalen Islands are part of the province of Quebec and are probably one of the best-kept secrets in Eastern Canada. Located about 100 km north of Prince Edward Island at the mouth of the river San Lorenzo and composed of nine main islands that comprise approximately 200 km square of land, the islands are relatively low. Most people do not notice on a map or in a Arent ball and more developed and more populated, as you can think in terms of size. The best time to visit the islands is in the summer months the fall, peak temperatures of the ocean to early August. Considering that the islands are too far north of the middle of summer is the best time for water activities, but naked in mind the fall is very smooth and short delay.
The Magdalen Islands are rugged and picturesque, at the same time. A nice mix of hills Rocky sloaps and cliffs, sand dunes and beaches that contrast perfectly with the red clay and blue of the deep ocean. fishery research Old houses all color dot the landscape, many perched on hills overlooking the main town of La Muela (Cap-aux-Meulen). There is certainly nothing like Canada, you'll know when are coming!
The best way to access the islands by boat you get a real feel of a trip to your travel and only takes about five hours east of Prince Edward Island. If you've never been in a boat or a ship and have never been in Prince Edward Island, is really the way forward. There is also an airport in the central city of "Le Havre-aux-Maisons" which tends to work well for the less adventurous travelers and I suspect that (as I took the ferry) from the point of view would be almost unbelievable.
Once on the islands near immediately begins to feel a little more relaxed, calmer, these islands do. I recommend spending a little time around the main town of Whetstone (Cap-aux-Meulen), little bars and seafood restaurants, museums and antique shops. From here, I suggest you take Highway 199 south to the island of Havre Aubert in the south-east of the archipelago, which can circulate around the basin is known as the islands. Here is an interesting area of pine forests surprisingly large, hills and breathtaking views. From there you can take Highway 199 (which Hiway is the only links in the islands and almost all) the north along the wheel past the dunes of the central islands. This is probably the most breathtaking part of the archipelago's driving along like a giant sand dune in the middle of the ocean, just incredible! EAST Continue north to reach the remote northern islands and the tip of the NWA, you will notice that the trees, towering cliffs and hills, rocky peaks and magnificent views over the sea Loop until the English "Grand Entrance" for a song in a seafood restaurant and authentic, so you can make your way back up and down the stone grinding. The round trip from one end of the archipelago to others and return to less than a few hours of grinding stone.
Some interesting facts are that Jacques Cartier was the first European to visit the islands 1534. Many people living in the islands are descendants of more than 400 wrecks in its history and islands are home to some of the older Quebecs. The northern part of the islands is mainly English and most populated of the southern section is mainly French.
The Magdalen Islands are home navigation best wind and kite surfing and sailing in Canada. The islands are also renowned for hiking and mountain biking terrain vehicle. Swimming is great in the summer months and something completely new and different to try kite surfing on the dunes or take a ride in a buggy!
Whatever type of vacation you are looking for Remember to find excitement and new experiences in the Magdalen Islands!
