Cycling in Toronto issues!?
Hello, I am a student moving to Toronto. I will be living on Queen St E, and biking to the U of T campus. I wonder some things and I hope you can help me? First, can you recommend a route from the Queen and Broadview to the U of T campus where there will be lane bike? Also how safe is travel in Toronto? And finally, does anyone have any idea how long it would take to ride that distance?
Check out the maps here for bike routes in Toronto: http://www.toronto.ca/cycling/map/index.htm In fact, the city is far behind in terms of bicycle lanes and safe cycling, and I've seen some altercations between cyclists and drivers, but if you alert and follow the rules of the road it should be fine.
