How much fixed gear road bicycle’s usually go for?

I haven’t had a bike for about 8 years, and but I’m looking for a steady road bike to cruise around San Francisco in. I was wondering how much one would cost and what things I should look into for getting one.

If you live in the City, you’re going to need a bike with as many gears as possible.Maybe a hybrid.I don’t think you can get anything decent under $500. You want to stay away from stores like Walmart, Target, ect., as their bikes are junk.An entry level road bike will be at least $700.
