What kind of cycle bike should I buy? Linda MarĂn 2010 or 2009, Terra Kona Lisa RD?

So I'm going to buy my first road bike a 200-mile race. I'm in good shape, but have not Riden a bike in about 5 years. I'm looking to finish the race in two days. I've seen some bikes Trek but is well above $ 1,000. I'm deciding between two bikes. The two new brands. 2010 Marin Terra Linda ($ 700) – This is also for mountain biking road. It is a little heavier and is likely to be a little more control because the handles are straight and through a mountain bike and tires are one trash in general. 2009 Kona Lisa RD 44 cm. $ 910.00 Sale is marked under $ 1,300.00. It is a lighter form and it seems to go faster but less control. Maybe because I'm not used yet. It's a bit of stretching my budget. I was not expecting to spend over $ 700. But if you feel this is better, I could consider it.

The konda going to come with a set of components better. Mountain can be more targeted to what you want for a race of 200 miles of roads, but it will change more clean, and keep your pitch, brake better, and probably travel a little better. And, will hold its value and you should not is mounted in a batch the future. The Marin is a good little bike though. After having built several, is a solid flat bar road bike that is much more capable on the road and better suited for 200 miles. As proposed use to, I went with Marin, and save the sinking extra pair.

Opinions about bike settings.?

I put my heart into a sort of Marin Northside trail as a bike as I can get it in a scheme of work through Ride2Work. That means I get about 40% which is good. It may also include lights, etc in it, can we Recommend a lighthouse / taillight and everything you need to move forward. The lights just very used for road use, but should be enough for me to show I live in the country without the benefit of bluffing. Any off-road use will be in broad daylight as a high-power unit is not an exaggeration?

Yes, like the response below the others go to your local bike shop and play with them. If you do not have a fire where you live, you may want pay a little more ridiculous by a bright light on the front. On the back I have a red light in a constant light and there was a flashing light. . . "Light and Movement "of doing things really bright … Check http://www.evanscycles.com/product.jsp?style=12610 bit expensive for some, but works in the dark and is rechargeable! Hope this helps! -= D =-
