Is it possible to ride a road bike from seattle washington to seaside oregon? If so how would I get there?

My brother and I live in seattle and we are just geting into roadbiking.(my first bike is coming on friday from an online source)We are thinking about riding from seattle to seaside for thanksgiving but dont know if thats reasonable. We havent riddent before adn I dont know if 3 weeks is enough time to train. Also I dont know how we would ride down there. Is there a trail if so how far is it and is it safe. Please help
