congrats on the move to seattle, quite possibly one of the greatest cycling cities in the states. all of the above is true, though i will tell you seattle rain is far from what many in other parts of the country assume. it very rarely rains hard but will drizzle for days on end. raods and drivers in seattle are very bike friendly as is public transportation. use the above info and then just get yourself a metro pass for the days when riding ceases to be an option or the freak down poors cut your ride short. wetern washington has micro climates, it was snowing in my bcak yard and sunny in my front yard one day, so be prepared for any thing. overall the weather is actually quite mild and i was able to ride comfotably year round while i lived there.
