How far do sport bikes ride in a day?

I live in Texas and work on short term ( 6 mo. to 1 year) projects all over the US. I also ride my Road King to every state I work in and back home. I average about 15K a year on my bike. I love long rides on back roads. In places like The Tail of the Dragon I see all the sport bikes in one place. Will a sport bike rider ride 500, 700 or 1000 miles in one day? How far have you rode in 24hr?
Wow…. I had no idea sport bike rider put that many miles at one time. I ride a touring bike with a back rest. I have only gone 890 miles in 17 hours. That’s doing 80 mph with stops at 160 mills apart. I was going for 1000 in 24hr but became sleepy and could not hold my eyes open. So I pulled over and slept.

sure, it depends on what is on the other side…. I rode my gsxr 1100 in japan 700 miles in one day….
when I first got that bike i put 3500 on it the first 7 days. I had it for 2 years and put 38000 miles on it. (and japans gas was 5 dollars a gallon then)
I recently came back from tail of the dragon…. from florida, but we towed the bikes there. but we did about 400 miles a day for a week. I was in daytona this year too. and almost ALL the harley riders I saw (and others) towed the bikes in. I’m from the tampa area now and didn’t see too many bikers this year riding over.
I guess it’s all a personal choice. (and what’s on the other side)
