how long would it take to bicycle from fayetteville, nc to allentown, pa?

on a mountain bike going at about 10 mph and resting at night from 8 at night to 6 in the morning. also, what routes should i take that are safe?

That is a really hard question to answer. I say this because if you look it up on mapquest, it shows highways to go, and, being on a bike, you can’t do that. My suggestion to you is this: Find a cycling club close to your home and visit/contact them. They may have the answers you are looking for.

I biked from Ft.Lauderdale, Florida to Key West, Florida about 15 years ago with a cycling group. We made the trip in 3 days though, stopping every now and then for rest, food, etc. Total distance of the trip was approximately 200 miles. I suggest if you do this, be prepared for the worst. Have extra tubes, bicycle tools and a cell phone with you. Keep hydrated and rested. We had @ 35 bicyclists with us. I have always wanted to bike across the U.S. and hopefully one day will be able to. What a great accomplishment that would be. Good luck to you on your journey !!!
