Winter Biking Boston
Winter Biking Boston
Need a "No" Car of the city in the U.S.?
I'm not very fond of cars and driving. Given that my job gives me freedom to live almost anywhere they choose, I'm considering moving to a big city where public transportation and bicycles (and walking) will get you where you need go … I have a small dog that I refuse to leave so that Europe or exotic Bangkok are (unfortunately) a – really I have to stay in the U.S.. Unfortunately, Manhattan and San Francisco seem to be too expensive … and though I love Chicago, I do not love me long, cold winters. I was thinking about New Orleans (French Quarter / CBD / Garden District) … I'm not sure if I would be considered a complete monster (or loser) for not owning a car. The palm trees would be good though. Aside from Boston or DC, does anyone have any idea?
Davis, CA is a small city bicycle orientation.

National Treasury called Cape Cod Seashore
Take a wonderful journey through Massachusetts Cape Cod National Seashore Park. With thousands of beaches beautiful, white sand, inspiring walks and trails, and breathtaking fragile dunes, the park is an important geological wonder thousands of years in manufacturing. Just keep reading and can be visited here …
Cape Cod National Seashore is a park of 4308 acres 60 miles south of Boston, Massachusetts. It was overturned by an act of Congress in 1961 to preserve and protect a unique geological area and the wildlife habitat in New England. Cape Cod was formed when the glaciers melted about 12,000 last great years, leaving a large lake, which flows eventually to the exposure of sediment and deposits by glaciers since ancient times.
Nature has restored all of Cape Cod in particular the area of the Atlantic facing National Seashore, and continues to date. But it is the perfect getaway location. It is the ideal place to enjoy nature, especially off season. So let's take a brief Cape Cod vacations journey together. Are you ready?
Nauset Beach
The first leg of the trip is Nauset beach in the city of Orleans. This a beautiful beach to walk and see the hard work of nature. Atlantic Storms batter the dunes and the beach each winter, erosion is a major problem here. Protection is the name of the game at Nauset not just for the dunes, but the birds that nest in spring. Always watch to erosion and protection of breeding birds place signs at all during their trip to Cape Cod
The entrance to Nauset beach is located in East Orleans at the end of Beach Road, where there is ample parking. The lot is approximately 2 miles Routes 6/6a, and during the summer months, you have to pay to use it.
NATIONAL CENTER FOR VISITORS March EASTHAM
The National Seashore has two centers. The Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham guide you to the park, and offers short, a museum and free maps for hiking and cycling. Salt stall is a pond of water sweet ice tea, but once she fled across the ocean. Take time to discover the walking trails near the pond, and learn more about birds and different plants and the area of support.
El Faro Beach
These next two tracks are very popular and during summer, the park fills up quickly. Many people use their bikes to get to these places – parking lots for bicycles and the price is fair – free!
Coast Guard Beach in Eastham can be reached by bicycle from the bike trail Salt Pond Visitor Center, or by car from Nauset Road Route 6 directly after the Visitor Center. This beach is one of my favorite ride at low tide, and was the region where Henry Beston wrote The Outermost House. Unfortunately, the blizzard of 1978 washed away the house where he lived while writing the book – the sea
Nauset Light Beach can be reached from Brackett Road also Route 6. Overlooking the beach, the picturesque red and white lighthouse Nauset. Originally built in Chatham in the 19th century, moved here shortly after and returned in 1996, when erosion of the cliff threatened to collapse the lighthouse. This beach is popular for the introduction and cliffs.
Great walk in Wellfleet ISLAND
The Great Island Wellfleet hike is 6 miles if you expect at least half a day to explore this beautiful region. Located on the bay of Cape Cod Cape in Wellfleet, drive to the trailhead was Chequesset Neck Road, and the preparation and the camera – for the exits.
This is a real walk in nature. There no sandwich bar or coke machine waiting for you at the end, so take your own snacks and drinks. Of all the roads in the Cape Cod National Seashore Park, this Perhaps the most remote – and I love it!
LAND Province National Seashore Visitor Center
The second visitor centers National Seashore Park is located in the Province Lands Road Route 6 and the point race. It is the north end of the park, and is the last stop on our brief tour of Cape Cod National Seashore.
The visitor center has an observation deck where you can see the ocean, the province forest land, and towering dunes. Province Lands full of beaches for swimming, track cycling, walking trail and a beautiful lighthouse on Race Point. Take time to discover this area and enjoy this unique area of Cape Town.
Cape Cod National Seashore is one of the destinations most popular holiday New England summer. But in my book is a wonderful place to visit at any time of year. If you're ready to explore and walk around you can discover your own piece of secluded and wild Cape Cod

How do I park bikes safely to Boston without a garage?
I live in the Boston area. I do not own a house or condominium. I want to get a used Harley, and I think my bike will be limited to parking on the street. Where can I park a motorcycle Boston? I wonder if lowjack get a lock disc brakes, and a security alarm enough for parking my bike in the streets Boston during the spring and summer? My plan is to be stored in a safe place during the winter months. What other options are to park in the street during the spring and summer in Boston?
It's a difficult question. I live in New York and parking my motorcycle (Suzuki Bandit 1200S '98) more to avoid being overthrown stolen. Perhaps examine lots and garages, I am sure that there are certain to Boston take a bike (not all in the City of New York). If I had a Harley and parked in the street, however, I would be concerned about the damage and theft. Here are some things I would do to make it a little harder and less attractive to a thief: a) Protection of the bike parking – If a thief is walking in the streets in a truck that is not likely to be stopped on all decks of bikes for consideration. Also, if you have the lid closed it may be difficult raise this. Thieves often look for brands and models to fill "orders" and do not know what can happen. 2) String / lock – I would try to find an area where a string of 6 'and a lock would be sufficient to ensure the rear wheel, or better Furthermore, under the bike to something. Polo panel, to the city's bike, which is sufficiently robust to be more time to fly. The time is the enemy of the thief and the longer it takes the more likely this will happen. Search Super heavy chains and locks built specifically for this purpose. 3) Disk Lock – If you leave town and can not bring a chain or cover at least I can do to protect the bike. Four men and one truck can still take a bike and disappears in 30 seconds. You can stop joy riders, however. 4) Alarm / LoJack – I think the LoJack alarm would be better because if you go to sleep and the bike is there, wakes and is not Theves may have up to six hours after delivery. Can be difficult is the transmitter, however. 5) management of insurance – all bikes have some sort of means to block the address. I always do this. It is an easy and Deters, however small. Sorry I could not help more. Good luck
