why is DH mountain biking not in the olympics?

why is DH mountain biking not in the olympics. is it because the brits are too good. It cannot be its not a popular event. If anyone has ever been to a world champ event, it’s packed full.

I think the risk level is too high, and with the nature of downhill courses, spectator value is rather limited for something like the Olympics.

You’re more likely to see dual slalom or 4-cross show up in the games in the future. I really think this will happen…..bmx made it and the reception has been good. People love the slalom skiing in the winter Olympics, and transferring that to two wheels in the summer is a natural match. I don’t see downhill ever making it, though…but at least we can still watch dh races and vids without that irritating television commentary, eh! )

I also want to see boomerangs make it into the Olympics someday. They almost got accepted for the 2000 games. Talk about spectator-fascinating and accepted worldwide. I don’t understand why things such as badminton and shuffling are in the Olympics but boomerangs were rejected. Crazy world. lol
